Apprentices at the Curtis Painting Group have been busy working on important projects during lockdown. Three of the apprentices are working on-site at the new Clatterbridge cancer centre, a project run by Laing O’Rourke. This will be a key NHS site, providing services and relief during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The painting and decorating firm also works with Vinci on the setting up of several pop-up field hospitals in North Wales and has another apprentice involved with the project.
Of course, the safety of apprentices is paramount. Curtis Painting Group has stepped up health and safety procedures generally, and in particular for their apprentices working on various sites.
Apprentices at Curtis Painting Group undertake their training either with Wirral Met College or Coleg Cambria. Recent achievements include two apprentices gaining their IPAF card. This means they are qualified to use powered access equipment and are already using mobile elevating work platforms at the Curtis Painting site in Liverpool.
